They didn’t even have a host, you think they were gonna have an In Memoriam?
The 2016 MTV VMAs had everything from a 15-minute Beyoncé concert to four separate Rihanna performances… but there was one thing noticeably missing:
Tributes to our fallen heroes!

Unfortunately, MTV didn’t figure out a way to fit an In Memoriam segment into their 3-hour show on Sunday night; maybe they assumed they’d get a pass since literally every other awards show has honored the legends to some extent.
Well, that simply wasn’t the case at the VMAs, and now fans of both Prince and David Bowie are complaining about the slight on Twitter!

As much as I’m glad MTV didn’t embarrass themselves doing a #Prince tribute, they needed to do 1. He made that channel in the early days.
